1. Place your subject as far as possible from your green screen. A distance of 9 -12 feet (3-4 
meters) is preferred.
2. Place your camera as far away as possible from screen. As a result you will need a narrow lens angle.
Advantages:
a. Green screen will be out of focus so the green spill or background wrinkles will be less visible.
b. A smaller Portion of the green screen is visible – It will create much easier evenly lighting for chroma key.
c. Your subject will create less shadows on the background.
3. Don’t use too much light (9-11f-stop lights).
You will have to overexpose your background if you want to eliminate wrinkles, background bolts or other irregularities. It will reduce also your set-up heat when you use less powerful lights.
4. To reduce possible green fringing in hair or clothes while lighting for chroma key, use a pale pink or magenta correction filter (1/4 or 1/2 minus green). This will reduce possible green fringing in hair or clothes. After you have keyed the result will look like a normal white backlight.
5. If you do not own an exposure meter use your camera zebra function, which is set to indicate a level of 100%, instead of an exposure meter.
